The Council’s team operates under the leadership of the President of the Council and the First Vice President of the Council (the Supreme Commissioner for the Member States of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy). The Council comprises a distinguished group of ambassadors, accredited ministers, and advisors, alongside diplomatic and economic experts from various countries around the world.
As an international organization operating within the framework of international law, the Council is authorized to confer official functional ranks—such as Commissioners, Ambassadors, Accredited Ministers, and Advisors—as granted by recognized entities under international law, including the United Nations. These appointments are issued in accordance with international legal rules and sources, based on applicable treaties and agreements, established international custom, the practices endorsed by the community of international law scholars, and advisory opinions of the International Court of Justice.
The team of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy enjoys full international diplomatic privileges and immunities in accordance with international law. Numerous treaties and agreements recognize the absolute immunity of international officials, which ensures the independence of the official and their complete loyalty to the international organization they serve. This immunity is applicable internationally, even with respect to the official’s country of nationality.
